About me
I've been an athlete for as long as I can remember. Sports and training have always been a big part of my life, and my journey has taken me through different sports, different goals, and plenty of lessons along the way.
Where It Started: Swimming
My athletic journey started in the pool.
I grew up swimming competitively, and I was lucky enough to swim D1 all the way through college. Swimming taught me the importance of consistency, discipline and hard work which is what I preach in my training style.
I ended my swimming career with the following best times:
25 yards:
- [50 fly] — [21.99]
- [100 fly] — [49.76]
- [200 fly] — [1:59.59]
- [50 breast] — [25.90]
- [100 breast] — [1:01.59]
50 meters:
- [50 fly] — [25.00]
- [50 breast] — [28.52]
- [100 fly] — [57.68]
I only included my best times and best events.
From Swimming to Strength
At some point, during my swimming career I fell in love with getting stronger which helped me get faster in the pool. That interest eventually led me to strength training and, ultimately, powerlifting.
My Powerlifting Journey
Powerlifting became a major part of my training, and I've spent years learning how to squat, bench, deadlift.
Some of my best numbers are:
- Squat: [610lbs]
- Bench Press: [400lbs]
- Deadlift: [690lbs]
- Total: [1700]
But the numbers are only part of the story.
Training has taught me that progress isn't always linear. There are great days, terrible days, PRs, plateaus, injuries, setbacks, breakthroughs, and plenty of workouts that don't go according to plan.
That's what ultimately led to Kenny Gainz.
Why Kenny Gainz?
Kenny Gainz is a place to document my journey, share what I've learned, and hopefully help other people along the way.
I'm still training. I'm still learning. I'm still trying new things and figuring out what works.
You'll see the workouts I'm doing, the programs I'm following, the goals I'm chasing, and the lessons that come from actually putting all of this into practice.
I'm not here because I've figured everything out. I'm here because I love training, I love sports, and I believe there's always something to improve.
So this is my journey.
Let's see where it goes.
